Work with project files
Work with project files
Section titled “Work with project files”The Files workspace lets LM Nexus work with a project where it already lives on disk. It does not copy the project into a separate Nexus store.
1. Open Files
Section titled “1. Open Files”Open Files from the LM Nexus navigation.
The side panel shows the current location at the top.
2. Add a project
Section titled “2. Add a project”Open Switch file location.
Under Projects, choose Add project and select/configure the project root.
Once added, the project appears in the Projects list and can be selected as the active Files root.
Closing/removing a project from this list removes the LM Nexus project entry; it does not delete the project files from disk.
3. Browse or search
Section titled “3. Browse or search”Use the file tree to open folders and files.
The side-panel search control can search within the active location.
LM Nexus can also expose named Nexus app-data locations and available drives in the same location switcher when those roots are available.
4. Create something
Section titled “4. Create something”Use the New file or folder (+) action and choose:
- New File
- New Folder
Open a text file to edit it in the Files workspace editor.
The Files menu also exposes editor options such as autosave/manual-save behavior and Save for the current file.
5. Use the project as context
Section titled “5. Use the project as context”Selecting a project makes it available to the workspace, but it does not automatically give every agent unrestricted filesystem access. Agents still need the relevant file tools and permissions.
Useful context-menu actions
Section titled “Useful context-menu actions”Depending on the selected file/folder and available modules, Files can expose actions such as:
- Open
- Open Folder
- Open in Terminal
- run/open integrations for supported tools.
Treat shell/terminal actions as execution, not as read-only file browsing.
Expected result
Section titled “Expected result”You should have a stable project entry in the Files location switcher, a navigable tree, and files that open in the workspace editor.
If the wrong project is active
Section titled “If the wrong project is active”Use Switch file location and select the intended project before invoking project-aware agent or terminal actions.
